A good interview needs space for the guest to speak and a picture that helps the audience stay with the conversation. These original programmes show how Upperland Studio’s recording space and parent company Focus Media’s production work come together. Bring your topic and guests; we can discuss the setting, language and production support that fit your programme.

Real interviews, connected to their makers

A recording studio becomes easier to assess when you can watch what was made there. These municipal interview productions connect Upperland Studio’s venue, parent company Focus Media’s production, Sarah Yu’s hosting and the people who sat down for the programmes: Gary Law and Chris Qiu (仇云霞). The original videos above let you compare the recording environment with the finished interviews.

Gary’s programme appears on the Upperland Studio channel. Chris’s two-part interview appears on Focus Media’s channel. Their original programme pages retain the context and production credits. Each programme connects its guest, host, production team and recording venue.

Gary Law: the interview and the later official result

The Gary Law conversation was published on September 6, 2026. Sarah Yu hosts the Mandarin interview about his Richmond council candidacy. Its date is the publication date; a separate filming date is not assigned here.

Richmond’s official declaration dated October 21 records 15,759 votes for Gary Law in the October 17 election, the highest total among council candidates. At this article’s October 26 publication he is a councillor-elect, ahead of the November 2 inauguration. Gary Law’s website provides his own updates.

Chris Qiu: a visible interview layout

The existing Chris Qiu studio record documents the October 2 recording. Armchairs, a glass table and a forest LED background create a seated conversation setting. The photographs below show the actual studio arrangement; they show Chris’s recording session.

Focus Media published the two episodes on October 12 with Mandarin audio and Chinese/English subtitles. The programme identifies the production as a paid partnership and states that the guest’s views are her own. The original programme page provides both parts and their context.

From a studio booking to a complete interview production

For your own interview or podcast, start with the number of speakers, camera angles, recording language and intended audience. The background, seating distance, microphone placement and lighting should support a conversation that remains clear through the edit.
