Jaime Stein | Ep. 2: The Best Constituency MLA | 2026 BC Election Interview
The second original episode continues the English-language studio interview. Its title follows the programme’s publication.
Paid partnership, as disclosed by the original programme. Guest views are their own.
These programmes have English audio and Chinese/English subtitles; subtitles do not indicate a separate Mandarin recording. Player images are photographs from the October 15 session. The second episode’s title is the original programme title, not a statement of elected office.

A good interview needs space for the guest to speak and a picture that helps the audience stay with the conversation. These original programmes show how Upperland Studio’s recording space and parent company Focus Media’s production work come together. Bring your topic and guests; we can discuss the setting, language and production support that fit your programme.
A conversation, a studio and the finished episodes
Jaime Stein came to Upperland Studio on October 15, 2026 for a BC election interview hosted by Sarah Yu and produced by the studio’s parent company, Focus Media. The new photographs show the two-person recording space; the two original episodes above show the resulting programme.
The interview has English audio with Chinese and English subtitles. This distinction matters when planning a bilingual production: translated captions can help another audience follow the same conversation, while a separate-language recording would be a different production requirement. Focus Media published both episodes on October 19 and identifies the programme as a paid partnership. The guest’s views are his own.
The recording setup in the photographs
Two armchairs sit across a glass table, with an autumn landscape on the LED wall. The wider photograph also shows camera and lighting positions. The closer images show the host and guest within the same setting, making it possible to compare the working space with the conversational framing.
For a new interview or podcast, this is a practical reference for seat spacing, sightlines, background selection and camera placement. The finished interview depends on how those choices work together with sound, hosting and editing; the LED scenery is one part of the production.
Jaime Stein’s programme and the provincial interview collection
The two episodes retain their original titles, Time to Step Up and The Best Constituency MLA. The latter is a programme title, not a statement that the guest has formally taken office. The original programme page links the films, captions and production context.
Focus Media’s 2026 BC election collection also includes Lawrence Chen, Linda Li, Keenan Yang and Henry Yao. That link connects the wider producer portfolio. The on-set photographs on this page document Jaime’s recording specifically; they focus on this particular studio session.
Election status, checked October 26
In Elections BC’s candidate results, updated October 26, 2026 at 10:34 PST, Jaime Stein leads the Vancouver-Langara initial count with 7,194 votes (50.50%). The page marks the results not official and schedules final counting for November 6–10. This is a dated initial-count observation, not a declaration of the final result.
Commission a Chinese interview or bring your own team
Upperland offers the studio space; parent company Focus Media can take on Mandarin interview planning, hosting, camera and sound production, editing and agreed subtitle deliverables. Jaime’s English-language programme demonstrates another recording language within the same production relationship.
