Case Study — Retro Lo-Fi MV with Vintage Low-Resolution Plates
Retro Lo-Fi Music Video on LED Wall in Vancouver | Upperland Studio
A nostalgic, low-resolution aesthetic crafted with vintage plates and bold tints—shot in one room on our LED wall. Fast scene changes, timeless mood.

Project overview
This project leans into nostalgic, low-res plates and bold color washes for a throwback MV feel. The crew used our LED wall to play vintage loops and grainy graphics at scale, keeping the look cohesive while moving fast between set-ups.
Creative approach
- Lo-fi by design: intentional pixelation, 4:3 frames, and analog clock/cartoon loops.
- Minimal kit, max mood: two key lights, simple blocking, and the LED wall carrying the art direction.
- Half-day efficiency: multiple backgrounds dialed up on the spot—no company move.
